Ultrasonic Open Channel Flow Meter for Irrigation & Water Flow Monitoring

Multi-Channel Ultrasonic Open Channel Flow Measurement System for Irrigation, Rivers, Reservoirs & Drainage

Product Introduction

The KH.XD Box-Type Ultrasonic Open Channel Flow Meter is a high-accuracy flow monitoring device designed for continuous flow measurement in open channels, irrigation systems, rivers, drainage channels, reservoirs, and pumping stations.

The integrated measuring box adopts precision machining and factory calibration, eliminating the need for complex field calibration and simplifying installation and commissioning.

Based on ultrasonic time-difference technology, the KH.XD measures water velocity at multiple depths through multiple ultrasonic transducer channels. Combined with electronic water level measurement and channel width parameters, the system calculates real-time flow rate and cumulative flow using the velocity-area method.

The KH.XD provides reliable flow measurement data for:

  • Agricultural irrigation flow monitoring
  • Open channel flow measurement
  • River and drainage monitoring
  • Reservoir water management
  • Pumping station flow monitoring
  • Ecological flow management
  • Water resource management
  • Smart irrigation and IoT water monitoring systems

By integrating water velocity, water level, and channel parameters, the system provides continuous flow data for efficient water resource management and intelligent water control.

How It Works

The KH.XD uses ultrasonic time-difference technology to measure water flow velocity through multiple ultrasonic transducer channels installed at different water depths.

The ultrasonic transducers transmit and receive acoustic signals through the flowing water. By analyzing the difference in ultrasonic transmission time, the system determines water velocity at different measurement layers.

At the same time, the system measures the water level electronically and combines the measured water level with channel width and velocity distribution data.

The flow rate is then calculated using the velocity-area method, allowing the system to provide real-time flow rate and cumulative flow measurements.

The multi-layer measurement structure provides several advantages:

  • Measures flow velocity at different water depths
  • Improves flow measurement stability under turbulent conditions
  • Reduces the influence of uneven velocity distribution
  • Combines velocity and water level data for flow calculation
  • Supports continuous unattended open channel flow monitoring

Key Features

High-Accuracy Multi-Layer Flow Measurement

Multiple ultrasonic measurement channels detect water velocity at different depths within the open channel.

The system applies data modeling to the multi-layer velocity measurements, improving measurement stability and accuracy under complex and turbulent flow conditions.

Ultrasonic Time-Difference Technology

The KH.XD uses ultrasonic time-difference measurement technology to determine water velocity without requiring mechanical components inside the flow path.

This provides reliable long-term operation while reducing mechanical wear and maintenance requirements.

Integrated Measuring Box Design

The measuring box adopts an integrated aluminum alloy structure with precision machining and factory calibration.

The integrated design simplifies transportation, installation, and commissioning while eliminating the need for complicated field calibration.

Low Head Loss

The ultrasonic sensors are embedded into the measuring structure, maintaining a smooth internal flow path and minimizing disturbance to water movement.

This design is particularly suitable for applications where maintaining normal channel flow conditions is important.

Velocity-Area Flow Calculation

The system combines multi-layer water velocity measurements with electronic water level and channel width parameters.

Using the velocity-area method, it calculates real-time flow rate and cumulative flow for continuous water resource monitoring.

Reliable Data Storage

Configuration parameters, calibration data, and cumulative flow records are stored internally.

The stored information is retained after power failure, helping maintain measurement settings and historical flow information during unexpected power interruptions.

Lightweight Aluminum Alloy Construction

The measuring box adopts an aluminum alloy structure that provides a combination of mechanical strength and lightweight construction.

The compact design makes transportation and installation more convenient for field deployment.

Factory Calibration

The integrated measuring box is calibrated before delivery, reducing field commissioning work and helping users achieve reliable measurement performance after installation.
